Job Description
Job Title: Security Shift Supervisor, Location: Ajax, ON, Type: Full Time, Pay Rate: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour, Shifts: Monday - Sunday, Shift Timing: 0530-1500 and/or 1500-0000.
Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced and qualified Security Shift Supervisor to join our team in a dynamic environment. As a Security Shift Supervisor, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring the safety of personnel, property, and assets through patrols, monitoring, and incident response.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily security operations and ensure full compliance with post orders and procedures.
- Lead, train, and support security staff, ensuring post order understanding, performance standards, and ongoing development.
- Manage shift coverage and break relief to maintain consistent site coverage.
- Enforce access control protocols, including screening staff, contractors, and visitors.
- Respond to incidents and emergencies, directing staff and coordinating with emergency services as required.
- Assess situations and implement effective, real‑time risk mitigation strategies.
- Deter theft and loss through proactive supervision and enforcement of security procedures.
- Complete detailed incident reports and maintain accurate logs and documentation for compliance and review.
Requirements
- Must have a valid Ontario Security License.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent/GED or equivalent work experience.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada up to 40 hours per week.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- 1-2 years of experience working in security.
- 3+ years experience as a Shift Supervisor.
- Previous experience in logistics environments and/or operating metal detectors preferred.
- Experience in critical environments where decision making and actions can impact life-safety and business continuity.
- Excellent administrative and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and security management software.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
