Job descriptionOverview Reporting to the Director of Decision Support, the Technical Specialist is responsible for designing, building, administering, and supporting Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse solutions for operational decision-making and reporting through scalable data models and intuitive dashboards and visualizations. The incumbent will also elicit and document business requirements for internal and external reporting, and work in close collaboration with the Decision Support team and end users to understand specific business needs and develop processes for effective reporting solutions.
Education
University degree or college diploma in Computer Science or Information Systems
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of system analysis, programming and database experience.
Strong expertise in writing complex SQL queries and performance‑tuning queries.
Demonstrated technical experience with data warehousing, OLAP, ETL, dimensional modeling, data architecture design and related processes.
Demonstrated development experience and knowledge of MS SQL Server Management Studio and SQL Server Integration Services (Visual Studio 2019). Knowledge of Python or other tools to support automation is a plus.
Working knowledge of Windows Server 2016.
3‑5 years’ experience in administration and development of BI and Data Warehouse solutions (including Cognos Analytics 11 and Power BI).
Experience with O365, MS Fabric and Power BI is a plus.
Proven capability to strategise and problem‑solve using advanced quantitative and analytical skills.
Detail oriented with strong organisational skills.
Excellent communication skills and ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and communicate with stakeholders using non‑technical language.
Experience in health data analytics is preferred.
Good work and attendance record required.
