Job description
Responsibilities

Provide technical claims advice within the auto line of business and serve as a subject‑matter expert to support the development of line‑specific training.

Support frontline adjusting teams and leadership by providing technical guidance and building overall claims expertise.

Develop, document, and maintain standards, policies, and procedures related to auto claims handling.

Develop and deliver clear, concise technical communications to multiple claims groups.

Participate in Quality Assurance file reviews and audits; support the development of action plans and document outcomes.

Keep team members informed of relevant industry, legal, and internal corporate developments.

Provide technical input and necessary information to internal and external partners, including Claims partners, Actuarial, Underwriting, and independent appraisal vendors.

Collaborate with claims partners to assess, evaluate, and develop ongoing training needs.

Manage risk related to auto legal matters, including statements of claim and litigation‑related issues.

Collaborate with our SIU & adjusting teams to review claims and provide technical guidance.

Qualifications

University degree in any discipline, a 2-year college diploma, or a CIP designation.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience handling auto claims or supporting an auto claims team.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Collaborative team player who is adaptable in a rapidly changing environment.

Ability to perform effectively in a fast‑paced operation while remaining calm under pressure.

Professional, friendly, and courteous in all interactions with customers, partners, and colleagues.

Leadership experience is considered an asset.

Legal or litigation‑related experience is considered an asset.
