Position Summary
Reporting to the Director, Capital Redevelopment, the Manager, Planning & Redevelopment provides overall capital planning leadership and direction in the development and maintenance of Quinte Health Master Program, Master Plan and all capital redevelopment projects, with the primary goal of creating safe high-quality care environments. The incumbent will be responsible for facilitating the delivery of professional services including capital planning, functional programming, project management, space, furniture and interior design standards, space management, and administering capital redevelopment projects as directed. This position will have a strong focus on customer service, balanced with finding departmental and organizational solutions while managing competing priorities. The Manager will collaborate closely with a multi-disciplinary team of hospital staff, clinicians, service providers, consultants, contractors and others in the delivery of capital projects. Responsibilities include delivering all capital projects implementing best practices for project management, communication, health & safety, infection protection and control, construction administration, commissioning and risk management while meeting scope, schedule, cost and quality targets. The Manager will also understand, prepare and submit capital proposals to OH & MOH for review, endorsement and approval, provide financial reports to ensure projects meet the hospital’s financial and operational goals, maintain a project tracking system and change management resource, and provide regular status reporting to the Director and Senior Leadership Team.
The Position
The Manager of Planning & Redevelopment will be instrumental in the implementation of strategic facilities, planning and management for both new and existing hospital facilities for Quinte Health. The role provides direction and leadership to support safe, effective and efficient spaces where quality patient care is delivered. The Manager will also be providing insight and leadership in the development of the organization’s master program and master plan, supporting the organization’s strategic priorities of high-quality care, healthy workplace, strong partnerships, impactful technology and a culture of patient and caregiver leadership. The Manager will lead a team of internal and external professionals, be skilled in planning and design, administration, furniture and equipment, clinical operations, construction and project delivery, and provide leadership and guidance on the planning and approvals process. The Manager will ensure that an appropriate vision for facilities planning is present and integrated into the planning, design and implementation of all Capital Projects, including providing inputs on the PECMH major redevelopment. The Manager will also support the implementation of projects, providing leadership to the project managers and coordinators while collaborating closely with leaders and frontline staff across the organization.
