Job descriptionOpportunity Meridian, a leading credit union, is looking for a VP, Wealth to lead the continued evolution and expansion of our Wealth business. You will drive growth of Wealth sales and assets under management by scaling advice, deepening member relationships, and building a future‑ready team that leverages AI, member insights and referral‑driven commercialization across the enterprise.
Responsibilities
Own end‑to‑end P&L accountability for the Wealth line of business driving revenue and AUM growth, strengthening profitability, and increasing market share.
Set and execute a multi‑year Wealth strategy to improve sales performance and advisor productivity, re‑imagine virtual and “human‑in‑the‑loop” financial planning and advice, and increase member share of wallet, virtual delivery, insurance, and intergenerational wealth.
Scale the virtual Wealth Advice Centre and model to grow our Wealth membership while improving Financial Advisor productivity and member experience.
Own consistent go‑to‑market execution for wealth member propositions and advice offerings, strengthen sales practices and pipeline discipline, working in partnership with marketing and other lines of business to lead referral‑driven commercialization across the enterprise.
Lead organic and inorganic growth of our Wealth assets under management, including advisor recruitment and expansion of Meridian’s Wealth ecosystem and partnerships.
Leverage AI and technology solutions to drive efficiencies and smarter ways of working within the Wealth team.
Represent Meridian Wealth externally, strengthening brand presence and industry profile.
Transformation and Enterprise Change
Champion and drive digital, data, and operational excellence transformation across Wealth, in partnership with enterprise technology teams, Aviso, and fintech partners.
Embed data‑driven decision making, continuous improvement, and modern delivery practices (Lean, Agile, automation).
Anticipate industry, regulatory, and economic change—turning complexity into clear direction and action.
Build High‑Performing Future‑Ready Teams
Lead, coach, and develop senior leaders with a focus on improving performance outcomes, building succession, and enhancing employee engagement.
Create an inclusive, accountable culture that attracts and retains top Wealth sales talent and builds long‑term leadership bench strength.
Act as a trusted, collaborative partner across Retail, Business Banking, Risk, and Corporate functions.

Design of referral execution models with Retail and Business Banking.

Required Skills and Experience
10+ years of progressive leadership experience in Wealth Management.
Proven track record of building and scaling a wealth sales team with tangible performance outcomes and results.
Demonstrated ability to manage and grow a Wealth line of business, increase Advisor productivity, and drive large‑scale change and new ways of working.
Proven ability to design a Wealth sales strategy and execute at scale.
Strong understanding of financial planning and advice models, insurance, and complementary product offerings.
Experience driving a shift toward more digital solutions and service delivery models with the optimal balance of in‑person member advice and support.
Demonstrated ability to build and leverage Wealth ecosystem partnerships.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and executive presence.
Industry designations (e.g., CFP, CFA, CIM) or equivalent experience preferred.
Comfort learning and adopting new digital tools, with an openness to using AI‑enabled technology to enhance productivity, accuracy, and the Member experience.
Salary CAD $166,600 - $250,000 (based on skills, experience, and internal equity).
