Position Summary The
Supply Chain Leader
is responsible for ensuring a reliable supply of raw materials and packaging, developing efficient production schedules, and coordinating logistics to support on-time customer delivery. This role plays a central part in balancing cost, quality, food safety, and operational efficiency within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. In addition, this position provides day‑to‑day leadership, coaching, and support to the Customer Service / Logistics Coordinator, fostering accountability, collaboration, and alignment with Mariposa Dairy’s operational and customer service goals.
Key Responsibilities Customer Service & Logistics
Provide direct leadership, guidance, and performance support to the Customer Service & Logistics Coordinator
Improve processes to ensure world class levels of customer service including customer orders filled on time and in full, coordinate outbound shipments and delivery schedules
Manage carrier and 3PL relationships
Resolve delivery and logistics issues as they arise
Report / monitor and support freight cost control
Sourcing, Procurement & Inventory Management
Source and purchase materials to meet production needs
Manage approved suppliers and monitor performance
Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules
Ensure suppliers and materials meet food‑safety and regulatory standards
Maintain accurate supplier and material documentation
Identify supply risks and support mitigation plans
Plan, monitor and maintain inventory levels to support production
Monitor inventory accuracy through reconciliations and cycle counts
Manage FIFO and shelf life of raw materials and finished goods to prevent waste
Identify and reduce slow‑moving or obsolete materials
Administration & Compliance
Ensure compliance with food‑safety, allergen, and traceability requirements
Support internal and external audits
Maintain accurate ERP/MRP data
Produce basic supply‑chain and inventory reports
Support cost tracking and continuous‑improvement initiatives
Perform additional responsibilities as required
Qualifications & Requirements
Diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field
3–5 years of combined procurement and/or production planning experience in food manufacturing or related industries
APICS/ASCM or SCMA certification is an asset
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (Business Central)
Knowledge of BOMs, yield loss, capacity planning, and supply chain analytics
Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship‑building skills
Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and problem‑solving abilities
Ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced production environment
Proactive, analytical, and committed to continuous improvement
