Purpose of the Position The Analyst, Costing Analysis will play a strategic role in driving profitability and sustainable growth through data-driven financial insights. Collaborating with stakeholders across Sales & Marketing, Finance, and Operations, the role involves providing timely analysis to guide revenue opportunities, optimize margins, and support executive decision-making. Position Accountabilities

Deliver actionable financial insights focused on cost and profitability to guide corporate decisions on contract renewals, capital investments, budget targets and strategic initiatives, while evaluating future revenue opportunities across North America

Recommend data-driven economic and financial solutions for operational improvements, proactively identifying margin optimization opportunities and collaborating with operations to implement impactful initiatives

Manage and maintain the forecast budget and multiyear plan of operating metrics, ensuring alignment with corporate goals while delivering valuable insights into operational drivers and efficiencies to support strategic decision-making

Partner with stakeholders, becoming a dependable financial expert that stakeholders can trust and rely on for strategic financial advice

Get alignment to cross-functional stakeholders to assess the financial viability of investment projects, understanding our network to drive meaningful revenue opportunities

Automate processes, enhance workflows, and build complex financial models to simplify data analysis and support data-driven decisions

Provide timely and accurate costing information and analysis to Sales and Marketing teams, detailing cost drivers and insight into profitability

Become an expert in managing operational and costing data, continually look for improvements in the models and information systems, and work closely with stakeholders to understand and implement changes that will drive business results

Position Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Commerce/Finance, Accounting, Economics or other relevant fields

Proven ability to consolidate large volumes of disparate data into a cohesive financial analysis that supports strategic decision‑making

Strong intellectual curiosity and problem‑solving mindset, consistently identifying root causes, cost drivers, and margin improvement opportunities

Skilled in explaining complex financial concepts, risks, and results to stakeholders

Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate, timely costing and forecasting insights

Strong organizational and time‑management skills, effectively balancing multiple priorities while collaborating across cross‑functional teams

Adept at translating analytical outputs into clear business insights, bridging the gap between financial modeling and operational understanding

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and build trust with stakeholders seeking financial guidance

Advanced Excel skills with extensive experience analyzing large datasets, building financial models, and automating workflows

Experience developing cost models and assessing product or service profitability, with exposure to transportation or rail industry data considered a strong advantage
