Job descriptionMEP Project Manager – Permanent – 3202 Ottawa, ON About the Opportunity Parker Huggett is partnering with a leading Canadian general contractor to identify an experienced MEP Project Manager to join their growing Ottawa team.
This is an opportunity to join a highly respected builder delivering complex institutional and commercial projects while playing a key leadership role within an established and collaborative construction group. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of project execution related to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing scopes, including safety, scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor management, client relations, and team leadership.

Duties include but are not limited to:
Lead the successful execution of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing scopes on institutional and commercial construction projects
Manage project budgets, forecasting, billings, reporting, and cost control
Oversee procurement, subcontract negotiations, contract administration, and trade performance
Coordinate consultants, subcontractors, clients, and internal project teams
Work closely with site leadership to ensure schedules, milestones, and project objectives are achieved
Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all project activities
Identify risks, opportunities, and solutions throughout the project lifecycle
Mentor and support the development of project coordinators and junior team members
Foster strong relationships with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders
About You The successful candidate will have the following:
Post‑secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline
Progressive experience managing MEP scopes within large institutional and commercial construction projects
Strong understanding of project financials, scheduling, contracts, and construction operations
Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, scopes, and contract documents
Proficiency with MS Office and project management software; experience with Viewpoint considered an asset
