ROLE We are looking for a storage technical advisor to support and manage storage solutions in the Chief Information Officer Branch.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage storage appliances: recommend solutions, deploy, configure firmware, set up access control, file systems, anti‑malware, backup services.
Maintain operational support: implement OS updates, monitor hardware health, address failures, manage backups, set alarms, review logs, automate performance evaluations.
Manage user and access control to ensure compliance.
Manage storage quotas and plan upgrades when capacity is exceeded.
Collaborate with Shared Services Canada for network configurations, performance monitoring, research‑center allocation requests, and support HPC clusters using GPFS and Lustre.
Provide technical documentation for storage solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in Computer Science or Engineering with computational emphasis.
At least 3 years of recent experience in enterprise storage appliance deployment and management (NAS, SAN).
Experience writing technical documentation.
Experience in network administration: switch, firewall, and network security.
Knowledge of storage hardware, file systems (Ceph, GPFS, Lustre, NTFS, ZFS), networking protocols (SMB, NFS, CIFS, iSCSI), backup solutions, high availability, business continuity, encryption, and access policies.
Proficiency in Linux or Windows OS administration and shell scripting.
Secret clearance required.

COMPENSATION From $103,911 to $130,061 per annum plus benefits: pension plan, health and dental coverage, disability and life insurance.
