About the Role Our client is seeking an experienced
Senior Project Manager – Infrastructure
to lead the successful planning, execution, and delivery of large‑scale infrastructure projects across the Greater Toronto Area. This role is ideal for a seasoned construction professional with deep expertise in complex civil infrastructure projects including transit, rail, bridges, highways, and heavy civil works. Reporting to senior leadership, the Senior Project Manager will oversee project operations from pre‑construction through completion, ensuring delivery on schedule, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader and relationship builder with proven experience managing large infrastructure projects, mitigating project risks, overseeing subcontractor performance, and collaborating with key stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex infrastructure projects while ensuring safety, quality, budget, and schedule objectives are achieved
Oversee project controls including budgeting, forecasting, cost reporting, scheduling, and change management
Manage subcontractor procurement, contract negotiations, performance management and dispute resolution
Provide leadership, mentorship and development to project teams while fostering a strong safety‑first culture
Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, consultants, subcontractors and internal stakeholders
Identify project risks and provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership regarding execution, claims and performance
Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
Technical trade certification required
Technical Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business or a related field preferred
15+ years of direct construction project management experience within transit, rail or large‑scale infrastructure projects
Strong experience delivering complex infrastructure projects including rail, bridges, highways and heavy civil construction
Extensive knowledge of construction methods, project controls, budgeting, scheduling and risk management
Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills
Proven ability to manage multiple project priorities in fast‑paced environments
