Finance and Accounting Manager

Responsibilities
Manage the full spectrum of the month close and the results reporting process (P&L, BS, cashflows, KPI reporting).
Prepare annual budgets, business plans, monthly rolling P&L forecasts, and cash forecasts by leading the cross‑functional discussions. Provide strategic oversight to difference between actual and budget/forecast figures.
Responsible for the preparation of annual/bi‑annual financial statements to meet the requirements of the statutory audits and tax audits.
Attend and lead the financial part of the monthly business review meetings.
Regularly review the revenue, product mix, order intake and order book with the Sales and operational teams and provide insights to the management team.
Optimize the working capital requirements by constantly monitoring the inventory levels, aged receivables, and supplier payments.
Responsible for the credit assessment and evaluation at the time of onboarding of a new customer as well as any modifications or additions to the existing customer’s terms.
Handle accounts receivables collection management, cash management and other treasury operations, as applicable. Closely work with the business partners in ensuring timely payment to vendors.
Review and approve the purchase orders and ensure the set delegation of authority is being implemented.
Consistently review and improve the finance process to ensure that the internal controls are designed and operated effectively.
Responsible for all statutory compliance and filings for the Canadian entity, including but not limited to federal and provincial tax returns (GST/HST), corporate income tax filings, property tax filings, and other government reporting requirements.
Responsible for managing all insurance requirements for the company.
Assess and challenge the business teams with any new capex requirements and prepare financial justification, where applicable.
Train, develop, and manage the performance of accounting staff. Interact with internal and external professional groups, tax auditors, corporate accounting departments, subsidiary accounting departments, internal auditors, etc.
Requirements
4-year college degree in accounting and finance
CPA or CFA qualification required
10+ years of strong experience in Finance and Accounting within the manufacturing industry
At least 5+ years of experience in a managerial role, strong emphasis on leadership
Strong experience in using MS Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel advanced reporting skills
Heavy knowledge and proficiency with a large ERP system, preferably SAP (JD Edwards or Epicor)
Working knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards)
End‑to‑end understanding of various modules in an ERP reporting system and end‑user implementation experience
Must be comfortable in a fully onsite position
