Job description
Join Houston Secondary School as a temporary teacher for Grades 8-9, focusing on Math, Science, and Electives. Foster a student-centered environment while engaging students with diverse learning needs and challenges.

This full-time position begins on May 25, 2026, and lasts until June 30, 2026. Ideal candidates will have a university qualification and successful teaching experience in secondary education. You will also support Indigenous and at-risk students, utilizing your strong communication and classroom management skills.

Key Responsibilities: • Develop lesson plans in Math, Science, and Electives • Create a positive classroom environment for all students • Collaborate with colleagues and attend required meetings • Implement BC Curriculum and assessment strategies • Support diverse student needs, focusing on inclusion

Requirements: • Valid teaching qualifications for secondary education • Experience with behavioral and motivational challenges • Proficient in technology use in classrooms • Strong interpersonal and collaborative abilities • Commitment to the school's growth and principles
