Job Overview As an Electrical Technical Service Representative, you will take your expertise into the field, work hands‑on with large mining equipment, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues, provide on‑site technical support, and maintain strong customer relationships. The role offers autonomy, technical challenge and the chance to make a measurable impact every shift.
Reports to Lead, Technical Services
Shift Details 7x7, 12h day shifts with rotation of days and nights.
Safety Sensitive Yes – drug & alcohol testing, physical demand fit testing, RCMP criminal record check and submission of 5‑year provincial driving record will be required.
Travel Up to 50% travel within Canada and the USA.
Relocation This position does not offer relocation.
Key Job Responsibilities
Commission, troubleshoot, and repair Komatsu/P&H mining equipment in field conditions.
Support equipment builds, commissioning, and follow‑up service work.
Diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues and determine corrective actions.
Adjust, repair, or replace components and systems at customer sites.
Provide on‑site technical support and maintain strong customer relationships.
Document service work, failures, and field issues accurately and on time.
Maintain a safe, clean work environment and support continuous improvement.
Qualifications / Requirements
Red Seal Electrician required; dual‑ticket strongly preferred.
1–3 years related field experience (mining environment an asset).
Strong understanding of mining shovels, drills, and loaders; proven troubleshooting ability.
Proficient with PLCs, digital drives, and high‑voltage electrical systems.
Able to participate in machine builds, commissioning, and performance testing.
Strong communication and customer‑support skills; able to work independently or with field teams.
Working knowledge of advanced control systems (A/B Rockwell, ABB, Siemens).
Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 – Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word.
