The Manager, Financial Reporting is responsible for the organization’s financial reporting requirements, and internal control design, processes and documentation to ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, including NI 52-109, and corporate objectives. This role ensures accounting processes, systems, internal controls and policies are designed to enable the company to meet public company reporting deadlines. The Manager will work with Kadex’s CFO and Kadex’s parent company’s finance team to ensure the objectives and goals are met.
Your Responsibilities
Responsible for the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring alignment with GAAP while maintaining the highest levels of accuracy and timeliness.
Responsible for the financial reporting cycle, including quarterly and annual reporting, ensuring compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
Act as the primary liaison between company’s executive as directed by CFO, parent company finance teams, external and internal auditors and other key stakeholders, ensuring transparency, clear communication and prompt resolution of any reporting issues.
Key interface with external auditors and other outside consultants in ensuring the company’s financial credibility, transparency and compliance to continuous disclosure regulations.
Key interface with Chorus’ Corporate Accounting team in review, research, and analysis of accounting implications of contracts or significant transactions.
General Accounting
Responsible for financial reporting and ensuring efficient planning, organization and control to meet deadlines.
Develop and recommend financial policies, systems, and procedures to Kadex CFO, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and alignment with business goals.
Prepare regular and ad‑hoc financial statements/reports, reconciliations, and analysis of financial and other relevant information to senior management and other external parties to aid in financial evaluations as directed by CFO.
Proactively identify opportunities to enhance financial systems, processes, and reporting to drive efficiencies.
Review key account reconciliations and accounting adjustments to ensure that the transactions are properly documented and recorded.
Serve as a liaison with Chorus on tax accounting matters as needed, ensuring alignment and compliance with tax regulations.
Business Process Controls & Procedures and Compliance
Lead the coordination and preparation for internal and external audits including NI 52-109, ensuring all relevant materials are accurately provided, and audits are completed efficiently.
Oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of accounting and financial reporting systems, ensuring reliable, accurate financial information is delivered to both internal and external stakeholders.
Establish, maintain, and enhance robust internal control frameworks within the department, ensuring performance is monitored effectively and all financial activities comply with legislative and regulatory requirements.
Proactively evaluate financial reporting systems, accounting procedures, and internal controls, identifying and recommending improvements to senior management to optimize efficiency, reduce risk, and ensure adherence to best practices.
Your Requirements
University Degree in Business/Accounting or related discipline.
CPA designation is required.
5‑7+ years’ experience (at least 3 years post designation experience).
Experience preparing and reviewing formal financial statements.
Experience with internal control assessment and development.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent analytical, quantitative and project planning skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Ability to meet deadlines, achieve objectives and work under pressure.
The expected starting salary range for this role is $110,000 - $130,000 per year. The final offer will be determined based on the successful candidate's experience and qualifications.
Discretionary bonuses, incentive programs, and other benefits may also be available, which are not included in the salary range above.
