Job descriptionSite Inspector DSEL is seeking a bright and motivated individual to join our Contract Administration department as a Site Inspector, joining a skilled group of dedicated engineers and technicians that work closely with developers, contractors, municipalities, conservation authorities and other consultants in the office and field to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
Candidates with a background in AutoCAD, strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Word, and who thrive in a fast-paced environment are encouraged to apply for this key position.
Location: Hybrid (will be required to be on sites within the (GTA - Toronto, Halton, Peel, York, Durham), Erin and Brantford).
Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000.00
Responsibilities:
Work in the field as the site contact with contractor, client, municipality and approval agencies
Inspect, measure, document and provide field direction
Coordinate field activities with DSEL project managers and with other site professionals (geotechnical, surveyors, environmental, structural, fluvial, etc)
Prepare and submit field reports to DSEL project managers
Organize construction meetings, including preparation of agenda and minutes
Apply for client security reductions
Review payment requests from the Contractor
Prepare as-built drawings of the works completed under your inspection
Coordinate the municipal assumption of projects
Prepare quantity takeoffs of the engineering drawings and assist with the tender preparation for the Owners
Qualifications:
CET designation, or recent/imminent completion of an undergraduate civil engineering degree program
Functional Word and Excel knowledge and ability
Valid Class-G drivers license and ongoing access to a vehicle for travel to work sites within the GTA
Highly-motivated, organized, and able to work well independently
Strong communication skills including a proven ability to convey your ideas clearly in a technical and non-technical manner
Proactive demeanor, takes initiative and enjoys analyzing and solving problems
