Job descriptionJob Description As an Engineering Support Specialist I – Mechanical at Honeywell, you will support the development and execution of test plans and procedures to ensure the quality and reliability of aerospace products. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand test requirements and assist in analyzing test results to contribute to product improvements. You will report directly to the Sr. Engineering Manager and work on site in Mississauga, ON.
Responsibilities
Efficiently execute test programs to well‑defined test procedures following standards such as DO‑160 and MIL‑STD‑810, with great attention to detail and focus on process adherence and high‑quality test data.
Install and commission test setups that include vibration fixtures, test articles, monitoring transducers, and custom equipment in environmental chambers and vibration test stands.
Troubleshoot test equipment and setup issues, collaborate with Test and Mechanical Engineers to investigate and solve test failures, and provide input to a Failure Review Board.
Program and operate environmental test chambers and vibration/shock tables, perform functional validation on test articles, and collect and analyze data to confirm test requirements are met.
Actively pursue cost savings through improving process efficiencies, test automation, and streamlining data processing tasks.
Occasionally work flexible shifts to support test and schedule requirements.
Qualifications
Three‑year diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering Technology.
A strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering Technology, including:
The principles of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, psychrometry, and fluid flow in relation to refrigeration, heating, and humidity control systems.
Kinematics (displacement, velocity, acceleration) and dynamics (force, motion, mass, and vibration).
Knowledge of test monitoring metrology, data acquisition, transducers, and PID control systems.
Mechanical power transmission theory is not required but would be an asset.
The ability to quickly understand new concepts and implement them in real‑world test scenarios.
Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
Strong work ethic, sense of ownership for test programs, and ability to work independently.
Willingness to learn new technologies, teamwork orientation, and eagerness to engage in hands‑on work.
A creative and forward‑thinking mindset.
Benefits The annual base salary for this position starts at $65,000. Salary is determined based on scope, responsibilities, experience, education, key skills, market and business considerations.
