Job description
Join YW Calgary as a Women's Support Partner, providing vital support to women and children in our domestic violence shelter every weekend. Use your skills in trauma-informed care to empower residents and create safe spaces. This weekend position, working Saturdays and Sundays, calls for a dedicated individual with a bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field and 1-3 years of experience in crisis or shelter work. The role emphasizes client-centered support and requires knowledge of trauma-informed practices, emotional intelligence, and strong decision-making skills. Key Responsibilities: • Provide trauma-informed care and support to shelter residents • Answer 24-hour crisis line calls and conduct risk assessments • Build respectful relationships and manage resident needs • Conduct intake assessments and safety planning with residents • Maintain safety and security of the shelter premises Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in social work or Human Services • 1-3 years experience in a crisis or shelter setting • First Aid and CPR certification • Knowledge of anti-oppressive and inclusive practices • Strong judgment and crisis management skills Bring your passion for client support and advocacy to YW Calgary as a Women's Support Partner and make a difference. #J-18808-Ljbffr
