We are seeking a skilled and versatile
CNC Machinist / Programmer
to join our Edmonton team.
What Will You Do? This role combines CNC programming, setup, and operation with hands‑on manual machining. The ideal candidate has strong experience with CNC mills and lathes (Haas preferred), ESPRIT programming, and the ability to produce precision components to tight tolerances.
Key Responsibilities
Program, set up, and operate CNC machines (mills and lathes)
Develop and optimize CNC programs (ESPRIT preferred)
Operate and troubleshoot Haas CNC equipment
Interpret engineering drawings and plan machining processes
Manufacture precision components to tight tolerances (±0.0005”)
Select tooling, fixtures, and machining strategies
Perform in‑process inspection using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
Troubleshoot machining issues and improve efficiency
Maintain production logs and quality documentation
Manual Machining
Operate manual equipment including manual lathe, manual mill, drill press, grinders, and general shop equipment
Support custom, repair, and low‑volume work
General
Maintain equipment and ensure proper machine functionality
Follow all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) procedures
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Support team members and mentor apprentices/junior machinists as needed
Working In
Shop environment (machining, noise, physical work)
Day shift (Monday–Friday), with overtime as required
Qualifications
Journeyman Machinist certification preferred (or equivalent experience)
Strong CNC programming experience (ESPRIT preferred)
Experience with CNC mills and lathes (Haas preferred)
Proficiency in manual machining
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and tolerances
Good computer and mathematical skills
Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting ability
Preferred Experience
2–4 years of experience in the compression industry
Experience with precision, low‑volume, or custom components
Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks)
