Who You Are:
BeatRoute is looking for a Content & Editorial Intern who lives and breathes music and pop culture. You’re fluent in social media trends, have a strong creative eye, and know your way around editing tools. You’re especially tuned into pop and hip-hop genres and love creating visuals and videos that connect with fans online.
This is an unpaid internship that qualifies for course credit - applicants must be students looking for course credit.
The Fine Print:
- Develop and execute engaging social media and content strategies to grow BeatRoute’s online presence.
- Create short-form and long-form video content for TikTok, Youtube and Instagram Reels that highlights trending music and artists.
- Design graphics and visuals using Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro (Adobe Creative Cloud) for posts and campaigns.
- Assist in planning, creating, and analyzing email marketing campaigns and subscriber engagement.
- Conduct market and audience research to inform creative direction and content themes.
- Collaborate with editorial to produce multimedia stories.
- Track key performance metrics and suggest improvements based on engagement data.
- Stay ahead of social trends and music culture, especially in pop, indie and hip-hop.
- Conduct research on industry trends, competitor strategies, and audience preferences to inform marketing and sales strategies
- Use SEO & AEO best practices to optimize content for search engines, ensuring high visibility and traffic to our website.
We are looking for someone with:
- Passion for Music: Deep knowledge and love for various music genres, artists, and the music industry as a whole.
- Creativity: Ability to think creatively and produce original, engaging content that stands out.
- Pop & Hip-Hop Expertise: Strong knowledge of genres, artists, and cultural trends.
- Content Creation Skills: Experience producing videos, graphics, and other media.
- Design Proficiency: Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro) with proficiency in graphic elements, typography, hierarchy, layout creation, and preparing artworks for final print or digital production.
- Social Media Fluency: Deep understanding of TikTok, Instagram, X, YouTube, and Facebook best practices.
- Creativity & Initiative: Self-starter who can conceptualize and execute content ideas.
- Analytical Mindset: Ability to track performance and adapt strategy.
- Strong Communication Skills: Collaborative and responsive within a creative team setting.
- Editorial Experience: Previous experience in blogging, journalism, or content creation, particularly in the music industry, is preferred.
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to effectively convey ideas and messages through written and verbal communication, as well as through compelling visual content.
