Drama in Education
Drama in Educationtheories and practical strategies to motivate diverse learners and enrich learning within a range of areas of study.
Lab, 4 hours per week.
Lab – Tuesday 18:00 – 22:00
Compensation
Effective September 1, 2026 - $7, per half course (195 hours nominally)
Effective September 1, 2026 - $15, per full course (390 hours nominally)
Please note: Instructors who are employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent of a 2-hour/week lecture, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.
Duties
Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article of the Collective Agreement. These include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty).
Qualifications
1. PhD in drama in education ora relevant, related discipline.
2. Significant professional and/or scholarly contributions to drama in education or a relevant, related discipline.
3. Successful, relevant,theoretically-informedpost-secondary teaching experience. Evidence of teaching effectiveness will ideally consist of a complete teaching dossier.Previouscourse evaluations, peer teaching evaluations, teaching letters of recommendation, or equivalentobjective,systematically collected evidence will also be considered.
4.Expertisein anti-oppressive, decolonizing, anti-racist, anti-supremacist, or related approaches to theatre making, theatre pedagogy, and/or theatrical practices. Evidence ofexpertisewill ideallydemonstratehow these principles are integrated into the applicant’s post-secondary teaching.Expertisemay include, for example, scholarly presentations orpublications, development of professional practices, academic or professional leadership, consulting work, or professional development or training.
5.Demonstratedability to use the BRIGHTSPACE online learning management system, theBrockDBonline portal, the OASIS system for managing student accommodations, or equivalent systems in other institutions.
