Position: Supply Chain Planner / Buyer

Our client is a well-established and internationally recognized advanced manufacturing organization specializing in highly technical and precision-driven production solutions supporting customers across various industries throughout North America. Their environment is fast-paced, innovative, collaborative, and focused on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Due to continued growth, we are currently seeking a Supply Chain Planner / Buyer to join their team in Markham, Ontario.
Position Overview
The Supply Chain Planner / Buyer will play a key role in supporting customer production build plans, translating demand forecasts into procurement and inventory strategies, and ensuring material availability to support manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong planning, purchasing, inventory, and ERP experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably electronics manufacturing.
This role requires strong communication, organizational, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills to support operations, customer satisfaction, and supply chain efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
• Work directly with customers to understand production requirements and build schedules
• Plan and maintain adequate inventory levels to support manufacturing operations
• Release and manage purchase orders to support production and inventory demands
• Monitor material shortages and proactively develop action plans to address gaps
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, warehousing, procurement, sales, and customer service teams
• Resolve material availability, quality, capacity, and cost-related issues with suppliers
• Maintain and update parts, vendor information, BOMs, and quality documentation
• Support inventory management initiatives including raw materials, WIP, excess, and obsolete inventory
• Prepare and maintain accurate reporting on KPIs, cost reductions, and rebates
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and special projects
• Support operational efficiencies within a high-volume manufacturing environment
Qualifications
• Minimum 4+ years of experience in supply chain planning, purchasing, or materials management within a manufacturing environment
• Electronics manufacturing experience is considered a strong asset
• Experience working with ERP/MRP systems
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
• Strong attention to detail and process-driven mindset
• Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Procurement, Sales, Quality, and Customer Service teams
