Job description

We are currently looking for a Compensation & Benefits Analyst in Canada. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced total rewards professional to contribute to the evolution of compensation, benefits, and employee recognition programs within a highly collaborative and people-focused environment. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping strategies that support talent attraction, engagement, and retention while ensuring programs remain competitive, equitable, and sustainable. Working closely with HR partners, leadership teams, payroll, finance, and HRIS specialists, you will provide expert guidance on compensation structures, benefits administration, and market analysis. The position offers strong exposure to strategic HR initiatives, data-driven decision-making, and process optimization within a modern remote‑first workplace. Candidates who enjoy balancing analytical rigor with stakeholder collaboration and continuous improvement will thrive in this role. This is a fully remote 14‑month term opportunity available to candidates based in Ontario or Quebec.

Accountabilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise and strategic guidance on compensation, benefits, and employee recognition programs to HR teams and people leaders.
  • Analyze internal and external market data, workforce trends, and stakeholder feedback to recommend improvements to total rewards programs and policies.
  • Lead and maintain job evaluation frameworks, compensation benchmarking activities, salary structures, and pay equity reviews.
  • Coordinate and execute annual compensation cycles, including salary reviews, variable pay programs, and related communications and reporting processes.
  • Evaluate and enhance employee group benefits programs to ensure competitiveness, cost‑effectiveness, and alignment with workforce well‑being objectives.
  • Manage relationships with benefits providers and support annual renewals, open enrollment activities, and escalated benefits issues.
  • Collaborate with HRIS and cross‑functional teams to optimize compensation and benefits systems, including Workday functionality and reporting tools.
  • Develop training materials, policies, metrics, and reporting dashboards to support effective total rewards management and decision‑making.
  • Lead compensation and benefits‑related projects, ensuring compliance with applicable employment legislation and organizational governance standards.

Requirements

  • University degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Approximately 7 years of experience in compensation and benefits program design, implementation, and administration.
  • Strong expertise in job evaluation, salary benchmarking, compensation analysis, and cyclical total rewards processes.
  • Solid understanding of employee benefits programs, market competitiveness analysis, and total rewards best practices.
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms, preferably Workday.
  • Advanced analytical and numerical skills, including strong proficiency with Excel and compensation data analysis.
  • Knowledge of employment legislation and regulatory frameworks relevant to Ontario and Quebec.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all organizational levels.
  • Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and multitasking abilities in fast‑paced environments.
  • Professional certifications such as CHRP/L, CCP, CEBS, or CBP are considered strong assets.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is considered an asset.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary package ranging from CAD $85,500 to $114,400.
  • Fully remote work environment within Ontario or Quebec.
  • Paid time off during the contract period.
  • Comprehensive health and dental benefits coverage.
  • Opportunity to contribute to strategic HR and total rewards initiatives.
  • Collaborative and inclusive workplace culture focused on employee well‑being and development.
  • Exposure to modern HR technologies and transformation initiatives.
  • Supportive environment that values diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
