The team
The Ted Rogers School of Management's Diversity Institute at Toronto Metropolitan University was founded in 1999 to improve equity, diversity and inclusion practices in organizations. The Diversity Institute develops customized strategies, programming, and resources to promote new, interdisciplinary knowledge and practice about diversity with respect to gender, race/ethnicity, Indigenous peoples, abilities, and sexual orientation. It collaborates with industry, government, not-for-profits, and academics.
Ted Rogers School of Management at Toronto Metropolitan University (TRSM) is developing collaborative, creative leaders who will drive 21st century business forward while making a positive impact on society. Home to nearly 10,000 students and more than 250 industry-connected faculty, TRSM is Canada's leading diverse, entrepreneurial business school centred in an urban learning environment. As the Career Coordinator at the Diversity Institute, you’ll play a vital role in designing and delivering innovative career development and recruitment programs that help participants build meaningful, equity-informed connections with employer partners.
You’ll be part of a passionate, forward-thinking team that’s transforming how people access opportunity. Whether advising participants on career planning, fostering employer partnerships, or representing the Institute at events and online, your work will help bridge gaps and open doors—particularly for those who have been historically excluded.
In this role, you will:
- Support participants individually and in groups on all aspects of their career development journey
- Cultivate partnerships with employers, community organizations, and institutional stakeholders
- Represent the Diversity Institute at career events, employer sessions, and across digital platforms
- Continuously improve service delivery and contribute to a dynamic, inclusive ecosystem of support
Qualifications
To help us learn more about you, please provide a cover letter and resume describing how you meet the following required qualifications:
- Completion of a post-secondary degree program to gain knowledge of active learning techniques.
- A minimum of three (3) years of work experience in an academic and/or recruiting environment and/or career counselling to gain knowledge of the operations and functions of industry, government and business as well as knowledge of student and curriculum development.
- Experience with integrating market research, best practices, and stakeholder feedback to create career development services and programs which fulfil employer expectations and meets student career focus.
- Experience with developing career education programming to students, evaluating service delivery methods, approaches, and presenting formal/informally to employers, industry groups and students.
- Experience with job search/placement and recruitment strategies and practices.
- Knowledge of the labour market and recruitment trends.
- Knowledge of computer (Google Workspace, MS Office, custom databases) and web-based applications.
- Knowledge of CRM (Salesforce) systems.
- Equivalent experience or a combination of equivalent experience and education may be accepted in place of education.
