Our Ideal Candidate
Allnorth is currently seeking a Senior Transportation Design Engineer for our team in Saskatoon, SK. The right candidate will have a wide breadth of experience in Urban and Rural roads, Highways and Interchanges, problem-solving is integral as you navigate site constraints and optimize traffic flow, collaborating with stakeholders and conducting quality assurance reviews to ensure accuracy of work.
The right candidate will foster innovation and knowledge-sharing within the team. Coordination of project activities and documentation of design decisions round out their responsibilities, ensuring projects progress smoothly and efficiently.
A Day in the Life
- Develop, maintain contacts and relationships with key clients and identify and pursue new clients and markets
- Participate in and oversee the design of urban and rural roadways and highways, hydraulics, and other associated projects
- Prepare and review tender documents and project cost estimates, maintain client mandated project records, reports, and tabulations
- Prepare construction contract documentation for, hydraulic, grading, surfacing and other transportation related projects
- Provide technical leadership in client meetings on transportation issues
- Work closely with design / CAD staff to ensure designs meet current design standards, guidelines, and other requirements
What You’ll Bring to the Team
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution
- Must be registered (or eligible for registration) as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in the province of Saskatchewan
- Grading, Surfacing and Hydraulics Design Second Level Supervisor
- Minimum 8 years of design experience on urban and rural roads, highways, and interchanges
- Experienced with the design guidelines and construction specifications for Ministry of Highways in Saskatchewan and other jurisdictions
- Experienced with functional planning and traffic assessment studies (an asset)
- Experience in urban infrastructure design and construction (an asset)
- Excellent communication skills (interpersonal and written) and proven ability to collaborate with team members in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize several concurrent assignments to deliver projects on time and within budget
