Veterinary Emergency and Referral Hospital of West Toronto is hiring a full-time Veterinary Technician, Emergency (RVT/LVT/CVT) to join our growing emergency team in Mississauga, Ontario.
This is an opportunity to work alongside a highly skilled, collaborative team, manage a wide variety of emergency cases, and practice at the top of your license in a fast-paced 24/7 emergency and referral hospital.

You’ll work closely with DVMs and fellow RVTs to provide exceptional patient care for urgent and critical cases.
Triage and emergency patient assessment Venipuncture and IV catheter placement Monitoring hospitalized patients and delivering nursing care Patient vitals and ongoing treatment monitoring Anesthesia support, surgical prep, and recovery Diagnostic imaging including radiographs ECG monitoring Laboratory sample collection and processing Client communication and education Assisting with emergency procedures and treatments Advanced technical skills may include: Central line placement assistance Urinary catheter placement NG tubes and nasal cannulas Chest tubes Feeding tubes Blood transfusions Advanced CPR (RECOVER training provided) This is the kind of ER where you’ll continue building your skills—not just repeat the same routine every shift.

Qualifications Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) required; CVT/LVT equivalents considered Emergency or critical care experience preferred, but strong GP technicians looking to transition into ER are encouraged to apply Strong anesthesia and patient care skills Ability to prioritize and work efficiently in a fast-paced emergency setting Excellent communication and teamwork skills Passion for emergency medicine and continued learning Fluent English speaking and reading skills required About the Hospital Veterinary Emergency and Referral Hospital of West Toronto is a 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital serving Mississauga and the Greater Toronto Area.
