Compensation
Marker-Grader positions are paid according tothe qualifications that the employee holds.
Master’s Degree Complete ($ - Paid to employees who have completed a master’s degree.
Undergraduate Degree Complete ($ Paid to employees who have completed a four-year honours degree or a three-year pass degree.
Third Year Complete ($ - Paid to employees who have completed the third year of an undergraduatehonoursdegree.
Second Year Complete ($ Paid to employees who have completed the second year of an undergraduate degree.
First Year Complete ($ Paid to employees who have completed the first year of an undergraduatehonoursdegree.
Duties
1. Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article 22 of the Collective Agreement.
2. Must be available to meet with Instructor as necessary, between the hours of 8 AM and 5 PM.
3. The marker-grader is expected to mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams and must be prepared to provide written feedback to students that will clearly identify the basis of the grade assigned; whether it is due to substantive content, or to written communications, including spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization of the submission.
The marker-grader may be expected to invigilate mid-terms and examinations for this course, or enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor.
Qualifications
1. Minimum 3rd Year complete in the CHYS BA or CHYS BA/BEd program, or be entering and/or continuing in the CHYS MA or CHYS PhD program. Previous successful experience as a Marker-Grader for CHYS 3P32 will be considered as equivalent.
2. Must have previously completed CHYS 3P32 or equivalent*, and obtained 80% or higher. Previous successful experience as a MarkerGrader for CHYS 3P32 will be considered as equivalent.
3. Evidence of communication skills (, letter of reference attesting to communication skills as a student in seminar or evaluation of successful previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Marker-Grader).
4. Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
