Position Overview

Are you ready to take the lead in shaping the future of facilities infrastructure in a dynamic, regulated environment? We are seeking a driven and strategic leader to oversee the delivery of a complex Facilities capital program where your work will directly influence operational excellence, sustainability, and long-term asset performance.

In this role, you’ll move beyond project execution to lead at the program level—guiding high-impact capital initiatives from planning through delivery. You’ll translate forward-looking asset renewal and decarbonization strategies into actionable plans, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with cost, schedule, and quality expectations.

This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of engineering, finance, and regulatory compliance—collaborating with cross-functional teams, contractors, and stakeholders to drive successful outcomes. You’ll also play a key role in advancing sustainability goals, embedding energy efficiency and emissions reduction into every stage of project execution.

If you’re passionate about leading people, delivering complex infrastructure projects, and making a measurable impact in the energy sector, this role offers an opportunity to grow your leadership while shaping the future of our facilities and infrastructure.

In this role, you will:

  • Translates approved asset renewal and decarbonization strategies into executable project plans and delivery schedules.
  • Accountable and oversees complex and high value capital projects to ensure alignment with approved scope, schedule, cost and quality targets.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal business units, contractors, consultants and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Lead forecasting, accrual validation, variance analysis and capital reporting in partnership with Finance.
  • Develop and support facility capital business cases and contribute technical expertise to regulatory submissions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory frameworks including BC Building Code, fire code requirements, electrical standards and WorkSafeBC obligations.
  • Oversee contractor performance, procurement processes and contract administration in alignment with corporate policy.
  • Promote a strong safety culture across project sites and ensure appropriate risk identification and mitigation.
  • Ensure sustainability, energy efficiency and emissions reduction objectives are integrated into capital execution activities.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and performance direction to Project Managers and professional staff.
  • Monitor program level performance and provide reporting to senior leadership on cost, schedule and risk exposure.

What it takes:

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, facilities management or a related discipline with 4 years of experience delivering complex capital projects in a utility, regulated or infrastructure environment.
  • Project Management Professional designation considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the utility industry and its operating environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to support financial planning, analysis, and modeling.
  • Sound knowledge of regulatory frameworks, legislation, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to manage and interpret budgeting processes and financial procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced capability in Excel.
  • Strong systems aptitude, with hands-on experience using SAP and financial management tools.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
