Job descriptionNew Family Solutions (NFS) is a trusted provider of high-quality behavioral, occupational, and speech-language supports for families across the greater Edmonton area, built on a mission to deliver the same exceptional care to families in rural communities as those in larger urban centres. Since 2007, our team of Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, and Behavioral Consultants has grown to meet the rising demand for personalized, timely, and effective supports. We are proud that our work is primarily delivered in person in families’ homes, with technology such as video modeling and virtual communication used as a helpful supplement to enhance the care experience whenever needed. About the Role: We’re seeking a passionate, self-starting Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic, multidisciplinary team. This contract opportunity is ideal for someone looking for extra work, part-time hours, or a flexible schedule. You’ll have the freedom to manage your own caseload while delivering integrated, evidence-based care for children with autism and other developmental differences. If you’re driven to make a meaningful difference and thrive in a flexible, collaborative environment, this is the role for you! What We Offer: - Stable, consistent caseloads: Each family has a one-year service commitment, giving you continuity and reliability in your work. - Competitive contract compensation: Enjoy highly competitive pay with one-year contract terms, rewarding your expertise and dedication. - Referrals made easy: We manage all referrals and onboarding and assign families as they become available. Caseloads are thoughtfully matched based on geographic location and skill set to ensure families receive the support they need, while supporting a manageable and consistent schedule for you. - Program coordination support: Our Program Coordinators manage files, oversee service plans, coordinate documentation and reporting, and provide ongoing feedback. They act as a liaison between families, FSCD, and other professionals, ensuring you can focus on delivering high-quality clinical care. - Flexible scheduling and autonomy: Work evenings (typically 4:00 pm–8:00 pm) and weekends to meet families’ needs, allowing you to deliver services when it works best for them—an approach that sets us apart from agencies with standard 9–5 schedules. - Mentorship: Support and guidance available from experienced colleagues, ideal for new graduates. At NFS, we are committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of families by delivering compassionate, professional, and accessible support—no matter where they live. Ideal Candidate: - Balances independent practice with effective collaboration alongside occupational therapists, physical therapists, behavioural consultants, and psychologists. - Ability to address key areas of a child’s functional skills and daily living activities through individualized one-on-one intervention and parent consultation. - Guide and educate families by sharing evidence-based tools and strategies to support positive development at home. - Flexible in providing services in the family home, within the community, or through virtual sessions when required. - Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills. Requirements: - Completion of a master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. - Active registration and current practice permit with ACOT. - Qualified new graduates with relevant experience and training will be considered. - Established as a contractor or willingness to set up as one. - Access to a reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license. - Must be willing to travel to support families located outside the Edmonton metro area, including communities such as Stony Plain, Spruce Grove, and Leduc. - Valid professional liability insurance. - Current criminal record check. How to Apply: Please upload your resume and a cover letter outlining your interest in the role, your relevant qualifications, and how your experience aligns with our team’s mission. Thank you for your interest in NFS. We appreciate every application and will be contacting only those candidates whose experience and skills best match the role.
