The role of the Real Estate Manager will be: - To negotiate all business terms for real estate transactions including offer to lease, amendments, retail leases and renewals for the company’s various brands. - To research, gather information including market intelligence on new sites and areas of development for the company’s various brands. - Must be knowledgeable with national and regional landlords for street front, office, enclosed malls, and outdoor shopping centre locations. - Maintain and develop relationships with the landlord community. - Professionally represent MTY by attending various industry, landlord and leasing events - Negotiate relocations, closures, rent reductions and/or expansion of existing units - Planification of strategic brand expansion while coordinating with different Band Managers - Set and attain yearly objectives for brand expansion - Coordinate and maintain relationships with MTY’s brokers, consultants, and different Brand Leaders - Responsible for the coordination of all leasing documentation with the Legal department for proper execution - Responsible for the coordination with the Franchising Team for different brands to ensure proper execution of appropriate documentation - Coordinate with the construction team to resolve issues relating to construction delays, lease possessions and commencement dates - Ability to travel from time to time for the realization of the above-mentioned duties and responsibilities Key Skills Required - Organization and planning - Time management - Effective Communication skills - Self motivated - Negotiations - Ability to multi-task, prioritize and be flexible with changing business requirements in a team environment. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Qualifications - The successful candidate will preferably have at least 3 years of commercial real estate experience - Post-secondary level or equivalent experience.
