Perfect Market Timing - Peak electricity demand will grow 69% over the next decade while grid capacity lags behind. - In Ontario alone rates have risen 30% year-over-year creating urgent demand for our solution. Pre-Funded with Clear Path The venture is already capitalized with Pre-Seed funding. My client intends to lead the Seed round and has reserved capital for future fundraising rounds. With Ca$1/2 billion+ in succesful investments you will gain direct access to our clients extensive network plus they'll handle early administrative hurdles so you can focus on building the opportunity. About the Role Rare Co-Founder & CEO Opportunity: You'll own significant equity and have full operational freedom to build a category-defining Canadian battery energy storage company from the ground up. Responsibilities - We are looking for a seasoned entrepreneur who has successfully built a company, product, or significant business unit, with P&L ownership. - You should be comfortable structuring project or asset-backed financing vehicles and be fluent in Canadian energy markets. - A real benefit - direct experience with IESO mechanics and demand response programs. Qualification Profile - 10+ years of experience founding or leading a startup, ideally in energy, infrastructure, hardware, or adjacent B2B sectors in Canada or the US. Required Skills - Built a company, product, or business with full P&L ownership in a resource-constrained environment (startup, new division, or spin-off). - Track record of attracting and retaining talent — evidence of people following them across ventures, or building a high-performing team from scratch at an early-stage company. - Experience in energy, infrastructure, hardware, EV charging, HVAC, or BESS — either as a founder, operator, or BD/sales leader (e.g., Edgecom, SunGrid, SunRun-type companies). B2B sales into commercial or industrial customers is a strong plus. - Or a suucesful series entrpreneur with a track record (acquisition, spin-off, or scale to Series A+) in the Canadian startup ecosystem. Must demonstrate ability to ramp quickly on a technical domain. Preferred Skills - Structured project or asset-backed financing — debt facility, SPV, or similar capital structure to finance hardware rollout (e.g., solar, EV chargers, HVAC, BESS). Must have done this hands-on, not just advised on it. - Raised venture capital — led or co-led a seed or Series A round as a founder or C-level. Prior VC relationships in Canada are a strong plus. - Working knowledge of Canadian energy markets (IESO, demand response, demand charges).
