Food Counter Attendant

Job Overview

We are looking for the next ROCK STAR to join our family at Firehouse Subs® Restaurant!!! Part-time-Full Time positions are available.

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Food Service Counter Attendant. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving food, handling transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting. Previous restaurant or food service experience is preferred but not required, as training will be provided. This position offers an opportunity to develop valuable skills in food handling, cashiering, and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with greater energy and assist them with menu selections
• Prepare and serve food items according to established standards
• Operate POS systems, including Micros POS, for accurate order processing and cash handling
• Manage transactions efficiently while providing excellent customer service
• Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the counter area, adhering to food safety standards
• Restock supplies and ensure all food preparation areas are organized and hygienic
• Handle cash register operations accurately, including basic math calculations for change
• Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed to maintain safety and quality
• Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food service or restaurant environment preferred but not required
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly attitude
• Knowledge of POS systems, including NCR, Toast.
• Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy
• Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting
• Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork orientation
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks efficiently
• Experience with food preparation, serving, cashiering, or kitchen operations is advantageous

Pay: From CA$15.60 per hour

Additional Requirements:

• Computer skills including some Microsoft software and register skills

• Ability to stand, bend, reach and scoop through-out assigned shift

• Ability to be mobile in walk-in refrigerator and freezer with temperatures ranging from 40° F to -10° F
