Contract Start Date: Beginning of 2026-2027 School YearResponsibilities Safely transport students to and from school on all student attendance days; Regular cleaning of the bus; Adherence to safe bus driving procedures; Compliance with all personal protective equipment procedures; Advising parents of route changes; Regularly communicating with school Administration and Transportation Department personnel regarding student conduct; Conducting daily vehicle inspections as required by The Traffic Safety Act; Ensuring bus maintenance standards are being maintained and mechanical deficiencies are reported to the bus garage in a timely manner; Providing casual employees with an orientation to your bus, bus route and rules specific to your route; Promoting the vision, mission, values and goals of Chinook School Division; Desired Qualifications and Skills Minimum Class 5 license with School Bus “S” Endorsement; Possess and maintain a satisfactory driver’s abstract; Previous experience working with children; Strong communication skills; Strong interpersonal skills; Strong cognitive ability to make sound decisions; Ability to work as part of a team; Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; Ability to deal with a broad range of students, staff and members of the general public; Basic computer skills; Good physical condition Ability to exert up to 50 lbs of force occasionally Ability to exert up to 20 lbs of force frequently Ability to exert up to 10 lbs of force constantly Benefits: Defined Benefit Pension Plan Employee benefit package Positive work environment Pay range: $15,057.50 to $16,391.67 per hour base wage + $0.2690 per KM (over 80 km driven) and bus expense allowances.
