What You'll Do

As a valued member of our Senior Living team, you’ll help create a warm and welcoming environment where residents feel respected, cared for, and at home. Your role will be more than a job - it will be a daily opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life.

As a Housekeeper you will:

1. Resident Room Cleaning

• Perform daily cleaning of all assigned resident rooms (32 beds)
• Clean and disinfect:
  • High-touch surfaces (bed rails, call bells, switches, handles)
  • Bathrooms (toilets, sinks, grab bars)
• Dust and clean furniture, vents, and surfaces
• Mop floors using microfiber system
• Replace waste liners and remove garbage

2. Infection Prevention & Control (IPAC)

• Follow all IPAC protocols including:
  • Hand hygiene before/after each room
  • PPE usage (gloves, gowns, masks as required)
• Perform high-touch cleaning minimum twice daily
• Use color-coded microfiber system to prevent cross-contamination
• Follow enhanced cleaning protocols during outbreaks (2–4 hour cycles)

3. RHA Common Areas

Responsible for cleaning within assigned home area:

• Dining rooms, lounges, corridors
• Nursing stations and kitchenette areas
• Spa/bathing rooms and equipment

Tasks include:

• Disinfection of tables, chairs, rails, and touchpoints
• Floor care (mopping, auto-scrub as required)
• Waste removal and odor control

4. Waste & Environmental Management

• Remove garbage and recycling daily
• Maintain garbage rooms and chute areas
• Prevent buildup of debris and contamination risks

5. Deep Cleaning Duties

• Participate in scheduled rotational deep cleaning
• Tasks include:
  • Moving furniture
  • Cleaning vents, baseboards, windows
  • Deep cleaning bathrooms (tiles, grout)

6. Safety & Reporting

• Identify and report:
  • Maintenance issues
  • Safety hazards
• Ensure proper chemical handling (WHMIS compliant)

7. Resident-Centered Care

• Respect for residents’ privacy and dignity
• Communicate professionally with residents and staff
• Maintain a calm, respectful presence in care areas

Qualifications

What You Bring

• Experience in healthcare or LTC housekeeping preferred
• Knowledge of IPAC practices
• Ability to work independently within assigned RHA
• Physically able to perform cleaning tasks
