Job descriptionPosition Overview We are seeking an experienced safety professional to support and elevate health, safety, and environmental performance across multiple active construction sites. This role serves as a key liaison between field operations and the broader safety function, offering guidance, oversight, and mentorship to on-site teams. The successful candidate will take a hands-on approach to managing site safety initiatives, driving compliance, and strengthening a proactive safety culture across all projects. Key Responsibilities - Support the rollout and ongoing execution of health, safety, and environmental programs across multiple job sites. - Ensure all site activities align with applicable legislation, regulatory requirements, and internal safety standards. - Conduct regular site visits, inspections, and audits; follow up to ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively. - Monitor subcontractor activities to ensure adherence to safety expectations and contractual requirements. - Lead investigations into workplace incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective measures. - Compile and analyze safety data, preparing reports that highlight trends, risks, and improvement opportunities. - Provide guidance, coaching, and training to site teams and junior safety staff. - Support emergency preparedness planning and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. - Champion a culture of safety awareness and accountability across all levels of the organization. Qualifications & Experience - 5–7 years of progressive experience in health, safety, and environmental roles within construction or a related industry. - Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Studies, or a related field. - Professional safety designation such as CRSP, CSP, or NCSO is considered an asset. - Strong knowledge of applicable safety legislation and environmental standards, including audit frameworks and compliance requirements. - Experience participating in or supporting safety audits and certification processes. - Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively with diverse teams in a fast-paced environment. - Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. - Proficiency with safety management systems and Microsoft Office; familiarity with digital safety platforms is an asset. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in incident investigation and reporting.
