Integrity is central to how Winters operates, guiding ethical decision‑making, trusted partnerships, and a commitment to safety and compliance. A continuous pursuit of excellence fuels innovation, product quality, and a workplace culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and customer satisfaction. About the Role This is a primarily hands-on, bench-level role, ideal for a candidate with some warehouse and technical instrumentation experience. Approximately 80% of your time will be spent on the shop floor performing gauge assembly and calibration work. If you thrive doing precise, practical instrumentation work every day, this role is for you. Winters Instruments is looking for a skilled and experienced Lead Technician to join our Edmonton team. You will be the technical backbone of our local operation, calibrating, assembling, and repairing pressure and temperature instruments to exacting standards, while providing day-to-day guidance to the Production and Warehouse teams. Occasional administrative, documentation, and cross-team support tasks make up the remainder of the role. Key Responsibilities - Calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and repair pressure and temperature instruments (mechanical & analog) using reference standards and manufacturer specifications. - Perform light assembly, soldering, brazing, and diaphragm seal work. - Read blueprints, manuals, and schematics to assemble, verify, and resolve technical issues. - Maintain accurate calibration records, production logs, and quality documentation. - Develop and manage calibration schedules to ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ABSA Quality requirements and industry standards. - Troubleshoot discrepancies, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. - Maintain calibration equipment and perform preventative maintenance. - Provide technical guidance to team members and collaborate across all departments. - Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment. Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation) - Manual dexterity for precise work; frequent standing, walking, bending, and tool use. - Visual acuity for reading measurements and detailed tasks. - Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs and work in a shop environment with occasional heat exposure. Qualifications - 1–3 years of hands-on calibration or instrumentation experience with pressure and temperature devices or similar experience. - Experience in a technical field. - Knowledge of metrology principles, ISO 9001, hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics, soldering, and brazing, preferred. - Welding knowledge and obtained certificate, preferred. - Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. - Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail and willingness to learn. - Ability to communicate fluently in spoken and written English. - Demonstrated teamwork experience. Thank you for your interest. Given the large number of applicants, we will reach out only to those whose experience and skills most closely meet our needs. NO AGENCIES PLEASE. NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE. Winters Instruments does not offer immigration or work permit support or sponsorship. Please note this is a daytime full-time position. Winters Instruments is committed to providing accommodations in all parts of the recruitment and employment process. If you require accommodation, please advise Human Resources and we will work with you to meet your needs. As part of our commitment to a fair and efficient hiring process, Winters Instruments uses multiple methods to select qualified candidates.
