Your new Role As a Estimator, you’ll take the lead on preparing accurate and competitive estimates for a variety of design‑build commercial and industrial projects. Your day‑to‑day will involve reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documents, completing detailed material and labour take‑offs, and working closely with suppliers and subcontractors to gather pricing and evaluate quotes. You’ll prepare bid submissions, budgets, and cost breakdowns, and support project managers during handover and early planning. This role calls for strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of refrigeration systems, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast‑paced environment. You’ll also maintain pricing databases and historical cost information while building strong working relationships with internal teams, clients, and vendors. What you’ll need to Succeed You’ll bring experience in estimating within refrigeration, HVAC, or mechanical contracting, along with a solid understanding of commercial and industrial refrigeration systems. You should feel confident interpreting mechanical drawings and technical specifications and be comfortable using estimating software and Microsoft Excel. Strong communication, organization, and time‑management skills are key. Technical training or a Red Seal Refrigeration Mechanic background is an asset, and you’ll need a valid driver’s licence with the ability to visit job sites when needed.
