SUMMARY The HUB ProEx Practice includes professional and executive liability specialists who advise clients on how to confidently navigate an ever-changing landscape and deliver comprehensive solutions to protect client organization’s people, reputation, and assets. The Senior Vice President, ProEx Canadian Claims Leader will closely partner with the Claims Department in a technical claims advisory and client-facing role. The successful candidate will apply their experience in providing interpretation of policy language, coverage analysis, advocacy, coverage and dispute resolution, act as liaison between clients, adjusters, lawyers and insurance companies, claims management and other related client services. A successful candidate will have experience handling professional and executive liability claims. The Claims Department's mandate is to deliver claims consulting services to clients, and advocate for our clients in resolving any issues relating to their loss, i.e., coverage disputes, policy interpretation, settlement disputes, etc. RESPONSIBILITIES - Serve as the subject matter expert on claim issues and disputes involving public Directors & Officers, Cyber, Reps & Warranties and other specialty lines - Claims advocate, advisor, and facilitator on behalf of broker client - Consultation with clients on claim issues and disputes involving public Directors & Officers, Cyber, Reps & Warranties and other specialty lines - Review and recommend solutions to coverage, quantum and claim handling management issues - Negotiate with insurers, adjusters and lawyers to expedite and obtain fair settlement of claims - Participate in sales presentations to prospective clients via RFPs etc. - Assist the client in preparing special claims servicing instructions focusing on the client’s specific needs and taking into consideration the structure of their insurance programs - Review and comment on policy wordings for account teams - Review of claims with clients/insurers/loss adjusters regularly - Mentor and develop other claims advocates on above-mentioned specialty lines of coverage - Provide insightful and thought leadership on industry trends and development of white papers and other marketing collateral QUALIFICATIONS - 7+ years of expert complex claims experience consulting others on: Cyber, E&O, D&O, Employment Practices, Fidelity, and Reps & Warranties - Post-secondary legal education required (LL.B. or JD) - Holds or commits to obtain appropriate provincial license within probationary period - Possesses excellent knowledge of coverage and analytical skills in policy interpretation - Aware of relevant insurance legislation and major insurance-related court decisions. - Prior experience in claims consultation with large middle market and risk managed accounts - Strong communication skills - both verbal & written, as well as effective time management and organizational practices - Results-oriented with strong client service emphasis and focus - Excellent interpersonal and strong negotiating skills - Ability to influence other senior leaders and work collaboratively while supporting your own and their priorities - Fluency in both English and French (verbal and written) is an asset JOIN OUR TEAM Do you believe in the power of innovation, collaboration, and transformation? The expected salary range for this position is $225,000 to $275,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
