Job description

Build your best future with the Johnson Controls Team

As a global leader in smart, healthy, and sustainable buildings, our mission is to reimagine the performance of buildings to serve people, places, and the planet. Our Supply Chain & Operations Rotational Program is a prestigious two‑year leadership development experience designed to prepare recent graduates for high‑impact roles within our manufacturing operations.

Associates gain hands‑on experience through strategic, plant‑based rotations with exposure to key functional areas including production supervision, manufacturing engineering, materials planning, procurement, logistics and distribution, quality, and Lean / Continuous Improvement. This role is based in the Edmonton, Alberta area, with rotations across Johnson Controls manufacturing locations within Edmonton.

What we offer

  • Competitive salary starting at $77,000 CAD

  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and retirement savings programs (available Day One)

  • Full relocation support for each rotation

  • A unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully alongside experienced professionals early in your career

  • A collaborative, inclusive, and growth‑oriented team environment

  • Structured leadership development and exposure to senior leaders

What you will do

Rotational associates will impact all aspects of the Johnson Controls supply chain through four six‑month rotations at manufacturing facilities across Edmonton.

In every rotation, associates take ownership of strategic projects that make a real difference - shaping decisions, improving processes, and influencing outcomes across the business. Associates are supported by an onsite assignment manager with deep functional expertise. In addition, the full rotational cohort participates in a global learning model designed to build business acumen and provide exposure to senior leadership.

How you will do it

  • Participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects

  • Learn and apply the Johnson Controls Manufacturing System (JCMS) maturity model to support plant performance and advancement

  • Support production scheduling, materials requirements planning (MRP), and supplier coordination

  • Optimize daily production operations through capacity management, scheduling analysis, and cycle‑time evaluation

  • Assist with supplier selection, evaluation, and performance tracking

  • Take ownership of key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly report results

  • Maintain material availability reports to ensure efficient manufacturing operations

  • Implement inventory control measures to reduce waste and improve efficiency

What we look for

  • Willingness and ability to relocate every six months to different Edmonton plant locations (relocation costs covered)

  • Relevant work, internship, academic project, or extracurricular experience in manufacturing, operations, or logistics

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (completed or in progress) in:

    Industrial Engineering

    Mechanical Engineering

    Supply Chain Management

    or a related field

  • Recently graduated (within the past two years) or currently enrolled as a full‑time student at an accredited Canadian college or university, with an expected graduation date between December 2023 and May 2026

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and decision‑making skills

  • Legal authorization to work in Canada (Johnson Controls is unable to provide immigration sponsorship for this role)
