Job descriptionWe are looking for a Senior Project Manager for a 12-month contract position, with possible extensions in Regina, Saskatchewan. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada. Position is available as on-site location, full time. Role Description Our client is seeking a Senior Project Manager to support staff augmentation on approved projects which may span multiple technical areas as capacity and budget permit. The Projects may include product feature enhancements from both external Company clients and internal Company product features. The ideal candidate will have experience in Telecommunications software environments and enterprise software development. Responsibilities - Define project objectives and selecting the most appropriate path or plan in order to satisfy project objectives. - Develop project requirements, scope and deliverables and ensuring the appropriate approvals are in place before proceeding with the project. - Develop project plan, schedule, tasks, resources, timelines and milestones. - Develop work breakdown structures for projects. - Develop business cases. - Maintain, execute, and monitor project schedules. - Develop and monitor budgets, allocations and/or expenditures. - Identify, document, report and mitigate project risks and issues. - Work with the Project stakeholders to develop, implement and maintain structures for project governance and decision-making. - Perform change management practices to achieve project deliverables. - Manage the project communication and reporting process via status reports, meetings, and other methods as required for monitoring and accountability purposes. - Develop implementation plans. - Ensure the completion and quality of project documentation, deliverables and obtaining the necessary sign-offs. - Ensure an operational plan is established and approved. - Transition the project to the appropriate Support Teams. - Facilitation skills - Problem Solving skills - Telco background preferred - Other work relevant to role as required. Required Skills and Experience - Education and training normally gained through post-secondary education at the University or Technical Institute level in one of the following: Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology. - Project Management Institute-Project Management Professional (PMI-PMP) Certification is preferred. - Certified in People Change Management (e.g. Prosci) is desired. - Any additional applicable certification(s) such as Agile, Scrum, Kanban are considered a strong asset. - Minimum eight (8) years of experience as a Project Manager, managing large, complex projects. - Minimum five (5) years of experience in financial reporting for medium to large size projects including budgeting, cost tracking and cost control. - Minimum five (5) years of experience managing and holding third party vendors accountable. - Proven experience in managing and prioritizing large, multiple complex projects including but not limited to project performance management, requirements, solution design, development, and testing. - Previous experience and thorough knowledge in Agile and Agile/Hybrid methodology. - Minimum of three (3) years of IT and/or telecom experience preferred (wireline, wireless, converged). (Note: Relevant experience within the last seven (7) years). - Experience in Telecommunications software environments and enterprise software development is highly desired.
