Program Manager, Business Continuity Management

The Mint is hiring a Program Manager, Business Continuity Management (BCM) who can thrive in a dynamic and inclusive environment. Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Risk Management, this role plays a critical part in strengthening the Mint’s operational resilience helping ensure the organization can continue or recover critical operations during disruptive events. You will provide enterprise‑wide guidance on business continuity by setting standards, enabling informed recovery planning and supporting coordination across business continuity, emergency response, and crisis management. By embedding continuity thinking into day‑to‑day operations and preparedness activities, your work will help reduce operational, financial, and reputational impacts during disruptions and emergencies. This role is ideal for a professional who enjoys working across the organization to influence and help leaders prepare for the unexpected. Your Responsibilities: - Lead and maintain the Mint’s business continuity policies, standards, and processes aligned with ISO 22301 (Business Continuity Management). - Assess continuity risks and lead Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) to identify critical functions, dependencies, and recovery objectives. - Work with business areas to identify, evaluate, and document practical recovery options. - Guide business and functional leaders in developing business continuity plans, procedures, roles, and responsibilities. - Support and coordinate responses to planned or unplanned events that disrupt business operations or resources. - Enable alignment between business continuity plans, emergency response plans, and crisis management activities. - Partner with business areas to support disaster recovery planning, testing, and continuous improvement. - Design, schedule, and facilitate training and exercises to build preparedness and awareness across the organization. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring on-site presence at our Ottawa or Winnipeg location three to five days per week, depending on meeting requirements and other activities. This selection process may also qualify you for other positions with similar requirements and qualifications. Qualifications: Language Requirements: Proficiency in both official languages (English / French) is required at the time of hire. If no qualified candidate fully meets the required levels, other candidate language profiles may be considered in accordance with the Mint’s Staffing Policy. The linguistic profile for this position is: - Reading Comprehension: B, Intermediate - Written Expression: B, Intermediate - Oral Proficiency: B, Intermediate Education: - University degree or diploma in related area or a combination of education and relevant experience is also considered Experience: - Minimum of 7 years of related business experience. - Demonstrated experience in business continuity, risk management, operational resilience, or a related discipline. - Experience leading cross-functional projects to deliver BCM solutions. - Experience working in manufacturing environment is considered a strong asset. Additional Qualifications: - Knowledge of business continuity frameworks, standards, and methodologies, including ISO 22301. - Experience conducting BIAs and developing business continuity and recovery plans. - Familiarity with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) concepts related to BCP and disaster recovery. - Strong project management, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. - Excellent documentation skills, with the ability to clearly communicate risks and recommendations to a wide audience. - Ability to remain calm, focused, and effective in high‑pressure or time‑sensitive situations. - Strong presentation and facilitation skills, including delivering training and tabletop exercises..
