Job descriptionOur client is a boutique architectural design studio in the heart of Muskoka, specializing in luxury custom homes and cottages in the 3,000–4,000+ sq ft range. Eight years in, they're at an exciting inflection point — on the cusp of becoming a recognized regional brand, designing homes that become landmarks in the Muskoka landscape. Their team of five is tight-knit and genuinely collaborative — music playing, designers hovering around each other's screens, shared problem-solving. They pair refined design sensibility with deep technical expertise, and take equal pride in how beautiful their renderings are and how buildable their drawing sets are. They're looking for a Senior Architectural Designer who is technically resolved, kind, low-ego, and ready to hit the ground running. If that sounds like you, we'd love to connect. ────────────────────────────────── WHAT YOU'LL DO ────────────────────────────────── ▸ Lead architectural concept development, design packages, and presentation-quality 3D visualizations for luxury custom residential projects ▸ Produce comprehensive, technically resolved construction drawing sets aligned with the Ontario Building Code and municipal requirements ▸ Guide projects through permitting and approvals — you know the process and can navigate it confidently ▸ Serve as a primary design contact for clients, maintaining white-glove service and design integrity through the full project lifecycle ▸ Coordinate with structural, mechanical, and civil consultants to resolve technical conflicts ▸ Support site visits and construction-phase activities to ensure alignment with design intent ▸ Contribute to studio systems — drawing standards, detail libraries, Revit templates ────────────────────────────────── WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR ────────────────────────────────── ▸ 4+ years of residential design experience with a focus on custom or luxury projects — your portfolio shows it ▸ BCIN certification for Houses and/or Small Buildings (required) ▸ Advanced Revit proficiency; Lumion or equivalent rendering capability ▸ Strong working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and Muskoka-area municipal approval processes ▸ Proven ability to run projects end-to-end independently and coordinate across disciplines ▸ Client-facing polish — you're comfortable as the design lead in a room with a discerning client ▸ Collaborative, in-person working style — this is a 5-day in-office role, and the culture depends on it ▸ Kind and low-ego — in a studio of five, one misfit hire rocks the boat ▸ Valid Ontario driver's license for occasional site visits ────────────────────────────────── WHY JOIN OUR CLIENT ────────────────────────────────── ▸ $85,000 – $95,000 base salary, commensurate with experience ▸ Benefits package and pension plan after one year ▸ Work on genuinely stunning luxury homes in one of Canada's most beautiful regions ▸ A studio culture built on craft, collaboration, and continuous growth — including AI-enabled workflows ▸ Real creative influence — your work will shape a portfolio the studio is proud to call landmark ▸ Stable, full-time role with a growing, design-led firm at an exciting moment in its story
