John Fluevog is an independent designer and retailer of forward-thinking footwear and accessories. Since 1970, John has been steadfast in creating ‘unique soles for unique souls’ that have been seen everywhere from the feet of artists like Madonna, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, and Jack White, to the runways of high fashion. Some of his earliest customers include The Beach Boys, Alice Cooper, filmmaker Robert Altman, and a slew of slightly less famous (but no less amazing) Fluevogers.
Traditionally made in old-world factories, Fluevog shoes are produced in small runs, are fully repairable, and—with their quality and timeless luxury—always stand out in a crowd. When you wear a pair of Fluevogs, you’re stepping into decades of traditionally crafted untraditional designs.
As you soak up the steady flow of comfort, confidence, and compliments, you’ll quickly begin to wonder what you ever did without Fluevogs on your feet. Whether it sticks in your mind as Foofarg or Vlueflag, Fluevog is a name usually mispronounced, but seldom forgotten.

Working with us as a freelance copywriter, you’ll get to help shape how Fluevog sounds in the world. From product descriptions to campaign messaging, you’ll bring clarity, personality, and support our distinct voice in everything we say.
This ongoing contract role is part storyteller, part editor, part translator. You’ll take ideas from across the business and turn them into copy that feels cohesive, expressive, and unmistakably Fluevog.

What You’ll Do
Write and edit product descriptions to support our Ecommerce site
Develop social copy for newsletters, blog posts, and other content
Ensure consistency in tone and voice across all submissions
Collaborate with our Creative and Ecommerce teams to align messaging with visuals and campaigns
What You Bring
2+ years of freelance copywriting experience (retail, fashion, or brand storytelling preferred)
Strong portfolio of written work across multiple formats
A clear sense of voice, tone, and audience
Ability to write both creatively and clearly (and know when each is needed)
Strong editing and proofreading skills
Comfort working with multiple stakeholders and inputs
Freelance experience with ability to invoice and receive payment in CAD
An appreciation for the Fluevog brand and its unique voice
Working Style
Up to 20 hours per week in a freelance contract role, supporting both project-based and ongoing work
Remote-friendly, within PST work hours
Flexible schedule with alignment to campaign timelines
Close collaboration with internal teams
