About the Role We are looking for a detail-oriented HR Generalist to provide hands-on support across a range of people operations functions.
You will work closely with our COO, our VP of People and Operations, and all our business leaders to keep our HRIS accurate, manage recruitment, administer employee benefits in both the US and Canada, and guide employees and team members through onboarding and offboarding processes.
You will work clo sely with our finance team to ensure payroll is accurate.
This is a flexible engagement suited to someone who is used to working remote, flexible hours.
What You'll Do Administer group benefits plans, including enrolments, changes, terminations, and employee inquiries Liaise with benefits carriers and brokers to resolve coverage issues Support full-cycle recruitment: job postings, applicant tracking, interview scheduling, and offer letter preparation, and contract negotiation Coordinate onboarding for new hires, including documentation, system access setup, and orientation scheduling Manage offboarding processes, including exit paperwork, system deprovisioning, and support ROE submissions Maintain and update HRIS records, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality Generate HR reports and metrics from HRIS as needed Manage internal communications calendar Support contractor onboarding, including W-8/W-9, T4A, and contractor agreement tracking Support compliance with provincial, state, and federal employment standards and HR policies Respond to team member inquiries on HR policies, benefits, and procedures Project coordination across portfolio company HR / Admin initiatives Ad hoc projects as needed What You Bring 2-4 years of HR administration experience in a Canadian workplace Familiarity with Canadian benefits administration and group insurance plans Experience/Familiarity with US employment and benefit landscape Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and job board platforms Familiarity with HRIS platforms and troubleshooting Working knowledge of provincial employment standards across key provinces Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion Human Resource education or CPHR coursework is a bonus What We Offer Flexible scheduling, focus on deliverables Support for professional development Extended health and dental benefits from day one!
