About the Role NHC is seeking an experienced computational fluid dynamics (CFD) Modelling Engineer to be based in NHC’s North Vancouver office. The successful candidate will serve as a key resource for NHC’s hydraulic analysis and design assignments and will work closely with NHC’s CFD modeling engineers.
Required Skills and Experience
Master’s degree or higher in Engineering with a focus on hydraulic engineering, water resources or equivalent experience.
Experience in CFD, ideally in a consulting engineering work environment.
Experience in the application of CFD models is required, experience with OpenFOAM or FLOW-3D models would be a definite asset.
Experience in modeling hydraulic structures (spillways, intakes, pump stations, etc.) would also be an asset.
A license to practice engineering (PEng) in BC, or eligibility to obtain one within one year.
Strong technical writing skills with demonstrated ability to prepare written reports and communicate effectively.
Demonstrated experience completing complex technical assignments in a team environment.
Self‑motivated, with an ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks to meet tight deadlines. Advanced skills in data analysis and visualization tools (using Tecplot, ParaView or similar software).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CAD software (AutoCAD, SpaceClaim, FreeCAD, etc.) for 3D spatial analysis.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, committed to technical excellence.
Ability to work collaboratively and openness to learning new knowledge in a multidisciplinary environment.
Proactive, resourceful, and adaptable, able to thrive in dynamic and diverse project environments.

Salary:
$90,000 – $120,000 per year (starting salary will depend on knowledge, skills, and experience).
