Company Overview Established in 1984, Stagevision is Canada's largest Canadian-owned audiovisual and event production company. Stagevision's team of professionals specializes in audiovisual solutions, lighting design, stage management, and virtual integration to create impactful in-person, virtual, and hybrid experiences. Recently, Toronto-based Banyan Capital Partners invested in Stagevision to accelerate its continued growth. Position Overview The SVP Operations will serve as the operational backbone of the organization. Reporting directly to the CEO, this individual will build the infrastructure, systems, and process required to scale. This leader will oversee the operations and financial performance of Stagevision’s regional hubs, lead the technician workforce, and establish the operational rigor needed to support organic growth and near-term M&A integration. Responsibilities Operational Leadership - Lead day-to-day operations across all five regional hubs - Ensure consistent service delivery, safety standards, and operational performance through the development and implantation of standardized operating procedures - Build a unified operating model that replaces location-by-location variability with scalable, repeatable processes. - Own the development of the operations management bench across all five locations – identifying, growing, and retaining high-potential warehouse leads and operations managers - Establish performance development plans, coaching cadences, and succession planning that reduces key-person dependency and builds organizational depth P&L Ownership & Financial Performance - Own the P&L for each of the five regional hubs. - Build a culture where local operations managers understand and own their numbers - Expand upon the KPI framework including labour utilization and cost, equipment utilization, cross-rental spend, fleet efficiency, and warehouse performance. - Drive monthly business reviews at the location level and hold management accountable for hitting targets. - Develop the systems and processes to capture competitive market intelligence on equipment and labour pricing, ensuring rates remain aligned with prevailing market standards. - Own the cadence of pricing reviews and work cross-functionally with Sales and Finance to translate market data into informed, competitive rate decisions. Workforce & Labour Management - Design and own a labour model that matches supply with demand by building and maintaining a hybrid workforce of full-time employees and freelance technicians against fluctuating event demand. - Build and improve upon the forecasting tools, scheduling systems, and management layer (warehouse leads, operations managers) to manage labour. - Oversee the technician workforce across hiring, development, and performance management, and champion a culture of accountability and excellence. Equipment Utilization & Cross-Rental Management - Own equipment utilization as a core financial and operational metric. - Maximize the productive use of owned inventory before turning to the external rental market and optimize inter-company equipment utilization across the enterprise (including MSA venues, not just the five regional hubs). - Establish cross-rental policies, approval thresholds, and tracking mechanisms to keep external rental spend at a minimum without compromising client delivery. Fleet Strategy & Operations - Build a fleet strategy that is cost-efficient and scalable, and ensure compliance with applicable transport and safety regulations across all jurisdictions of operation. Systems, Infrastructure & Process Building - Serve as executive owner of the Intellievent ERP platform — the system of record for labour scheduling, equipment tracking, fleet, and operational workflows. - Drive data discipline across all locations and ensure the platform is configured to operational and reporting requirements. - Translate the current entrepreneur-led model into documented, scalable processes across equipment handling, workflows, crew deployment, asset maintenance, and inter-warehouse inventory. M&A Integration & Organizational Scale - Lead the operational integration of acquired businesses — harmonizing systems, org structures, and processes while preserving what works and eliminating redundancy. - Partner with leadership on due diligence and day-one readiness planning. - Serve as the primary operational voice in evaluating acquisition targets and post-close execution. Qualifications - 8–12+ years of progressive operations leadership, with at least 3–5 years in a senior or VP-level role. - Background in field services or a comparable asset- and labour-intensive industry strongly preferred. AV, live events, or rental/staging background is a plus, but not required. - Proven experience as a process excellence & continuous improvement leader, bringing structured methodology to operational problem-solving. Six Sigma Black Belt preferred, as is experience applying continuous improvement frameworks (e.g., Lean, Kaizen) - Demonstrated track record of building operational infrastructure in a growth or post-acquisition environment. - Hands-on experience owning or significantly using an operations/ERP platform. - Strong understanding of labour scheduling, asset lifecycle management, and warehouse operations. - Comfortable with operational data and building KPI dashboards. - Experience managing multi-site, distributed teams - Proven ability to attract, develop, and retain frontline and management talent - Experience participating in or leading operational integration of an acquired business is preferred "Stagevision is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment where everyone can do their best work.
