We are currently seeking a Project Buyer to support procurement and sourcing activities across multiple projects. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring sourcing execution aligns with project objectives and meets Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Time (QCDT) requirements. This position offers strong exposure to technical procurement, supplier management, and cross-functional collaboration within an international and fast-paced industrial environment. Role Overview As a Project Buyer, you will be responsible for supporting the sourcing strategy and execution of procurement activities for assigned projects. You will work closely with engineering, project management, and commodity teams to ensure supplier deliverables meet project requirements. You will also contribute to supplier development, negotiation processes, and continuous improvement initiatives within the sourcing function. Key Responsibilities Supplier Management - Develop and maintain strong relationships with local and global suppliers - Monitor supplier performance and proactively address operational issues - Support resolution of supply chain and delivery challenges - Lead or support supplier negotiations and contractual agreements - Ensure compliance with internal policies, ethical standards, and procurement guidelines Sourcing & Commodity Support - Consolidate procurement needs from internal stakeholders - Support commodity strategies and sourcing panel development - Contribute insights to improve supplier selection and cost optimization - Assist Commodity Managers during tendering and sourcing phases - Provide feedback and lessons learned from ongoing projects Project Procurement Execution - Prepare and launch Requests for Quotation (RFQs) using standard tools and processes - Participate in supplier selection and lead negotiation activities - Track procurement progress against project milestones and QCDT targets - Manage change requests and support cost control initiatives - Ensure proper documentation and reporting throughout the sourcing cycle - Support claims management and contract follow-up activities Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work closely with Project Sourcing Managers and project teams - Participate in project meetings, sourcing reviews, and governance committees - Coordinate with engineering, quality, and supply chain stakeholders - Ensure alignment between procurement decisions and project objectives Reporting & Continuous Improvement - Provide regular updates on sourcing activities and supplier performance - Contribute to weekly reporting and project dashboards - Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction - Support knowledge sharing and return-on-experience initiatives Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred) - 3–5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or sourcing within an industrial environment - Experience in manufacturing, transportation, or other technical industries - Strong understanding of procurement processes and supplier management - Experience working with technical components (mechanical or electrical systems preferred) - Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills - Ability to manage multiple priorities in a project-driven environment - Fluency in English and French (mandatory) - Preferred Qualifications - Experience in rail, transportation, or large infrastructure projects - Familiarity with structured sourcing methodologies and project procurement processes - Exposure to global supplier networks and international collaboration - Experience with cost optimization and supplier performance management What We Offer - Opportunity to contribute to major transportation and infrastructure projects - Exposure to global sourcing strategies and supplier ecosystems - Collaborative, international, and engineering-driven environment - Strong learning and development opportunity within a leading organization - Competitive compensation aligned with experience Equal Employment Opportunity Acara Solutions is committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for applicants and employees.
