Job descriptionArt Director BUGATCHI’s Montreal office is seeking a highly skilled, technical creative with a passion for building brand universes for luxury menswear company. As Art Director, you will shape and execute the visual expression of the brand across digital, print, social, and retail touchpoints. This role sits at the intersection of creativity and brand stewardship — translating strategy into compelling visual narratives. You will play a critical role in bringing seasonal campaigns, product storytelling, and brand moments to life while ensuring every execution reflects the brand’s refined aesthetic and luxury standards. Key Responsibilities Creative Development & Execution - Translate seasonal brand direction into cohesive visual concepts, layouts, and storytelling frameworks that reflect brand aesthetic and position. - Lead the development and execution of brand creative across digital properties, social media communities, and 360 campaigns. - Explore emerging creative technologies and how they can further inform the brand language. - Refine and contribute to concept presentations, mood boards, and visual direction documents. - Very strong UX/UI fundamentals such as information architecture, interaction design, and accessibility standards. - Ability to work closely with site developers as well as contribute with coding and coding possibilities while constantly working with e-commerce and marketing teams to improve site experience. - Attention to detail and a strong eye for composition, layout, and design systems. - Strong communication and presentation skills—able to defend design decisions and incorporate feedback effectively - Flexibility and problem-solving skills to adapt designs based on technical constraints, user needs, and business priorities. - Desire to push visual design forward within brand guidelines. - Touch multiple communication channels including but (not limited to) digital & print advertising, cross platform video and social media. - Collaborate with and other cross functional departments to create a range of brand content and campaign deliverables. - Be an active partner is retail and in-store events and activations, both in brand-owned stores and other retail partners. Campaign & Content Creation - Collaborate with Marketing and eCommerce teams to deliver campaign assets across all touchpoints as defined by the GTM strategy. - Oversee the design digital creative for homepage updates, email marketing, display ads, paid social, and other performance channels. - Support ongoing optimization of digital storytelling across key landing pages and product detail pages. - Manage product imagery for the web, ensuring high-quality presentation and consistency. Production & Post-Production - Lead photo and video productions, maintaining clarity and professionalism with internal and external partners. - Confidently lead a high volume of photo and video productions, interacting with internal and external partners with clarity and professionalism, including management of seasonal e-commerce shoots. - Manage image curation, retouching standards, layout design, typography, and visual consistency, ensuring clear approvals are secured. - Leverage AI tools to comprehensively improve output quality and efficiency. Asset Management & Brand Consistency - Conduct image research and maintain organized asset libraries. - Ensure proper file management and version control across creative deliverables. - Maintain strict adherence to brand standards while introducing thoughtful innovation. All other relevant tasks, as necessary. Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design or related field. - 6–8+ years of experience in art direction or visual design, preferably within luxury fashion, premium retail, or lifestyle brands. - Strong portfolio demonstrating refined taste, typography, layout, and visual storytelling. - Experience supporting or leading photo and video productions. - Obsessed with Adobe Creative Suite, Figma and AI. - Deep appreciation for luxury aesthetics and brand consistency. - Strong collaboration skills and ability to provide constructive feedback that is well received and intended to help develop a best in class team standard. - Passionate about managing multiple projects under tight timelines. - A deep interest in and understanding of interactive design and associated issues. - Ability to ideate strong concepts and demonstrated ability to implement and execute concepts. - Superior attention to detail. - Highly organized and flexible and able to think and work beyond the brief. - Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal, visual and written communication skills; ability to collaborate with internal and external teams. - Positive attitude with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. - Work well under tight deadlines, is flexible, is reactive and understands how to prioritize. - Experience in multi-channel and multi-device UI design. - A thorough understanding of current web and mobile technologies. - Experience working in a collaborative development process. - Can effectively cope with change and shift gears comfortably. - Must be a highly motivated results oriented individual self-starter, capable to oversee a tight team and a passion for growing a luxury minded menswear brand. - Significant experience working with retouching.
