Job descriptionThe Senior Project Manager (PM) guides a team of engineers and professionals that design, build and manage complex water treatment projects. In this role, the PM is responsible for the overall success of projects in the Industrial Market portfolio. Working closely with the Lead Engineer and Sourcing Project Leader, you direct and coordinate all activities on a given project, beginning with contract signature and following through process/equipment design, vendor selection, fabrication, shipment, installation and startup. The PM is a passionate advocate for quality and safety across every aspect of the project, and ensures that the team delivers on commitments while adhering to scope, schedule and budget. The PM will need to communicate the project status, provide updates on the budget and progress against schedule while setting and managing client and vendor expectations. Key Characteristics: - Able to work in a networked and highly flexible role and collaborate with several stakeholders - Skilled communicator that approaches problems analytically and with intellectual rigor - Foundation in engineering principles and knowledge of water treatment design and operation - Able to direct a team of experts and coach individuals as needed to ensure that the project stays on track - Effective facilitator of project team meetings and deliverables, and as needed able to resolve conflicts within the project team - Able to handle multiple shifting demands with professionalism and good judgment - Able to effectively communicate information to varying audiences including Senior and Executive Leadership in the Veolia organization and within Client organizations Duties & Responsibilities: - Oversees the delivery of water treatment equipment projects from initiation through completion. - Organizes how the contract will be executed and defines clear project objectives. - Develops and maintains realistic plans for scope, budget, schedule, and key milestones. - Coordinates the project team so everyone understands priorities, project structure, and their responsibilities. - Works closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to satisfy contractual and technical requirements. - Promptly escalates issues or events that could significantly impact cost, schedule, scope, or quality. - Monitors progress through regular reviews and internal reports, adjusting plans as needed. - Identifies, evaluates, and manages project risks and opportunities. - Oversees project changes and supports claims management where required. - Actively participates in technical meetings and project reviews. - Collaborates with technical experts and discipline engineers to resolve issues and address critical topics. - Maintains and updates action plans, ensuring timely closure of actions and adherence to project objectives. Qualifications Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Impeccable planning, organization and time management - Clear, concise communication and presentation skills - Team player, with the ability to exercise good judgment under ambiguous or changing conditions Education & Experience Required: - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or an equivalent field - Ten years experience managing projects which include equipment supply and construction - Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or the ability to obtain it within one year Preferred: - Experience managing Engineering, Procurement contracts preferred - Experience in industrial process system design/construction, specifically water treatment in the , chemical, oil & gas or power markets Working Conditions: - The role requires the ability to travel domestically and internationally 5-20% of the time
