WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR We are seeking a highly experienced Head of Search to define and execute our holistic search strategy across SEO (Search Engine Optimization), SEM (Search Engine Marketing), and AEO (Algorithm/App Experience Optimization). Your role will be to drive organic and paid traffic, improve conversion rates, and serve as the subject matter expert for all search-related initiatives across our digital properties. This is a hands-on role for a true search specialist who can execute on high-level strategy and expertly maintain campaign performance, all while holding a keen eye for data-driven insights and a modern, efficient workflow. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Search Strategy & Execution: Lead the creation, execution, and optimization of SEO, SEM, and AEO strategies to maximize visibility and drive business growth. - Campaign Management: Confidently manage and optimize large-scale paid search campaigns (Google Ads, Bing, etc.), including keyword research, bid strategies, and ad copy optimization. - Performance Analysis & Reporting: Own and perform deep technical SEO audits, competitive analysis, and performance investigations using analytics platforms. - Collaboration & Leadership: Work closely with cross-functional teams (Content, Product, Development) to align search initiatives with the overall product roadmap, providing accurate forecasts and performance insights. - Knowledge Sharing & Documentation: Establish and update best practice guides and standard operating procedures for search, improving team knowledge and process consistency. REQUIREMENTS Essential: - 5+ years of professional experience managing and executing successful search marketing strategies (SEO/SEM). - SEO & Technical Mastery: Expertise in core SEO principles, including on-page, off-page, and technical SEO (site architecture, crawl budget, and schema markup). - SEM Proficiency: Strong skills in managing large-scale PPC campaigns, keyword research, ad copy optimization, and budget allocation across major platforms. - Analytics & Reporting: Deep, practical knowledge of Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Search Console for data-driven decision-making. - Advanced Tool Proficiency: Strong understanding and hands-on experience with industry-leading SEO/SEM tools (e.g., Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz, SA360). - AEO/Algorithm Optimization: Proficient in applying optimization principles to non-traditional search platforms or app stores (ASO). - Problem-Solver: A "detective" mindset. You must be comfortable figuring out complex algorithm changes and competitive landscapes on your own. - Strong Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Nice-to-Have Skills - Modern Platform Experience: Familiarity with modern Content Management Systems (CMS) beyond WordPress (e.g., Headless CMS, Shopify). - AI Workflow Tools: Experience using AI-powered tools (e.g., generative AI for ad copy, predictive analytics) to accelerate search strategy and performance. - Platform Optimization: Experience optimizing for specific platforms like YouTube Search or Amazon Advertising. - CRO: Knowledge of conversion rate optimization (CRO) and A/B testing methodologies.
