Personal Injury Law Clerk / Legal Assistant (Hybrid Role) Location: Downtown Toronto, ON (Full-Time, 100% In-Office) About the Role High-level litigation requires high-level coordination. Our client, a prestigious personal injury firm in downtown Toronto, is seeking a Law Clerk / Legal Assistant Hybrid who thrives in a high-energy, collaborative environment. Tort only. This is a fully in-office position designed for a professional who recognizes the value of face-to-face collaboration. In this role, being on-site isn't just about presence—it’s about earning potential and career acceleration. By working directly alongside senior counsel, you will have a front-row seat to the firm’s most complex files, allowing you to take on more substantive "Clerk-level" responsibilities that lead to higher compensation and performance-based rewards. What You’ll Do - Substantive Law Clerk Duties: Draft, format, and finalize complex pleadings, mediation briefs, and motion materials with minimal supervision. - Medical & Litigation Analysis: Request, track, and summarize medical records; manage the productions and undertakings process to keep files trial-ready. - Strategic File Management: Oversee personal injury files from intake through to resolution, ensuring all milestones and court deadlines are met. - Real-Time Coordination: Act as the central hub for 2–3 lawyers, managing calendars, booking discoveries, and coordinating with expert witnesses and opposing counsel. - Client Advocacy: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing professional and empathetic updates during sensitive litigation phases. What You Bring - Experience: 3+ years of experience in personal injury law, ideally in a role that blends administrative support with technical Law Clerk duties. - The "In-Office" Advantage: A preference for a vibrant, professional office setting where you can build rapport, solve problems in real-time, and maximize your output. - Technical Excellence: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and specialized legal accounting/file management software (e.g., PrimaFact, PC Law, or Clio). - Organization: A high-functioning "bring-forward" system mindset with the ability to pivot between tasks in a fast-paced environment. - Professionalism: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, suited for a high-stakes litigation firm.
